NEWARK -- Authorities are investigating homicide Wednesday night in the city. Essex County Prosecutor's Office spokeswoman Katherine Carter confirmed a killing had occurred in the city. City resident Jason L. Davis, 33, was shot at about 8:45 p.m. in the 900 block of Frelinghuysen Avenue, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A.
