    NEWARK -- A woman suffered serious injuries when she was hit by a vehicle in Newark's Ironbound section Wednesday afternoon, officials said. The pedestrian was hit at Warwick and Adams Street, according to Essex County Prosecutor's Office spokeswoman Katherine Carter. The driver remained at the scene, Carter added.  Officials did not immediately release additional details. The woman was not publicly identified.
